Fanart - Prototypes for Nyanko Doughnuts

Time to make... the prototypes! Making this project's been pretty interesting so far; filled with new techniques and learning a bunch. This is the first time I've made 9 plush for one project, so I think I'm learning about patience more than anything, lol. All part of the process Just thought I'd share the process for anyone interested.

I'd like to give a HUGE shout-out to DA artist NataliaSerrano & her wonderful plushie pattern tutorial! Her technique worked so much better & faster than my clay-to-plushie pattern method, so I've scraped my idea. I highly recommend it to all pattern-makers out there - on my first go I was able to get the bear claw (upper right) to final stages, and the standing kitty to 90% to where I wanted (the 3 prototypes in the photo show the various adjustments, the best so far is on the right). For ref, my paper doll looks a bit different from her tut - I made notes to the doll on the first layer of paper tape, then coated it with plastic wrap and used clear scotch tape to transfer the notes & finally cut with an exacto knife. Not a big difference, just pointing it out if you're looking for notes/tips when making your own.
